Leeds United are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of former manager Terry Venables at the age of 80, after a long illness. 

Venables had a distinguished playing career throughout the game, representing a number of clubs and making over 500 first team appearances, before then moving into management. 

He was at the top level of coaching for over 30 years, leading England into the famous Euro 96 tournament, and he was known as one of the best tacticians of the game. 

Venables was in the dugout at Elland Road between 2002/03. Everyone at Leeds United would like to send their very best wishes to all of Terry’s family and friends at this very sad time.
