Foundation deliver Take Pride campaign

Foundation deliver Take Pride campaign

Delivered through Primary Stars programme.

The Leeds United Foundation celebrated Pride throughout June, delivering a special campaign as part of their Premier League Primary Stars initiative.

The Take Pride campaign was created to help build awareness around what Pride is and what Pride stands for, providing a great opportunity to engage youngsters and educate them on the importance of inclusivity and what the annual Pride festival means to the city of Leeds and the club.

The main aim of the campaign was to ensure the young students were given vital information about why Pride is still so important, as although progress has been made over the last few years, there is still work to be done to make sure those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community feel included and are able to be them true selves.

As part of the workshops delivered throughout schools in Leeds, the children were asked to produce Pride themed posters on what makes them proud, with them able to showcase their creative abilities.

A Leeds United Foundation Coach, delivering the workshops, said: “The children had so much fun with this activity, and it was great to seem them be able to express the things they were proud of. It also started some great conversations, and they had some fantastic ideas on inclusivity and the importance of Pride for the community”.
