GARY SPRAKE - THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE

HE was part of the legendary Revie Leeds side, but often remembered for his gaffs as opposed to his brilliant saves, Brian Moore interviews the magnificent Gary Sprake.

Dogged by injuries, he had to quit the game at just 29 and since then has lived a life dogged by ill health Now 59, Gary invited Brian Moore to interview him at his Solihull home and learns how he twice escaped death.

Sprake played 380 games for Leeds under Don Revie and won 37 Welsh caps. He became the youngest ever Welsh international when he made his debut against Scotland in November 1963.

He was an ever present in the championship winning Leeds side of 1968/9 and  also won a League Cup winners medal, two Fairs Cup winners medals and a Division Two winners medal.

He left Elland Road in October 1973 when he joined Birmingham City in a £100,000 move - a then record for a goalkeeper.
